Bookings available to active members only.
No bookings required for Wednesday Walks
Leader: Philip Gatenby for NPA, 0401 415 446 or philip.gatenby@gmail.com
From Lowden Road climb Mount Lowden on the Lowden Trig Trail. Retrace steps for about a kilometre then turn to the north and follow a spur off track to Serenity Rocks where there are good views northwards. The walk along the spur is exploratory. Return via motorbike tracks (some overgrown) and fire trails. Three small creek crossings, some thick scrub (possibly with lawyer vine) and boulders to get over, around and through. Gaiters, scrub gloves and eye protection recommended.
Distance and climb: 15 km and 600 m
Maps: Bombay and Bendoura 1:25,000
Meet: Spotlight car park Queanbeyan in time to leave by 8 am
Cost: $50 per car. Longer drive than usual because of the closure of Briars Sharrow Road
Weather: for nearby Rossi at this stage, 7-17 degrees, rainfall 0-1 mm
Those doing their first Wednesday walk and those who are not members of BBC, NPA or CBC must contact the leader beforehand to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk and their suitability for joining it.
