E-M Wednesday Walk (BBC led): Molonglo Gorge plus
Wed 20th May 2026
Bookings available to active members only.
No bookings required for Wednesday Walks.
Leader: Dave Abela, 0482 802 050 or tangodancing4me@gmail.com
We’ll start our walk at the Molonglo Gorge carpark and make our way along the gorge track for several kms. We then head into the nature reserve on a mix of firetrails, single track and some off-track sections. The woodland here is very open, the trails well defined and generally quite easy to follow and walk along. A hilly walk, with some short, steep sections, with loose rocks in parts of the walk (particularly along the gorge). Distance relatively short at about 10kms. While doing the recce, I got a great view of a lyrebird just 5 metres in front of me!
As this is a hilly walk with sections of loose rocks and uneven tracks, I recommend bringing your walking poles if you’re a bit unsteady on your feet.
