This easy walk, on a combination of firetail and animal footpad, is just delightful offering the opportunity to chat with friends (or meet new ones), get some good exercise in and take in the splendid 270° views across to Stromlo, Enchanted Hill, the Brindabellas and the Tidbinbilla skyline. Our local hills and reserves are so valuable but often underrated. This walk has been chosen as it's local (so not much petrol required), it is relatively short (you'll be home by lunchtime) and it has some hidden gems - including a surprising number of kurrajong trees, Starting in Macarthur we walk along a lovely, unburnt, open ridge of eucalypts heading north with Wanniassa Hills Trig as our morning tea spot. If you're new to bushwalking, time poor, recovering from an injury or just want to get out and about somewhere local then this is for you! Bring morning tea and some gaiters to stop any grass seeds getting into your shoes and socks.
