The loop trail takes us around Sugarloaf Hill and descends to Pierces Creek. The steep climb along the Nine Mile track leads southwest to the entrance to Namadgi National Park and the Hardy Range. We follow the trail to its end before retracing our steps and returning to our st art via the Razorback fire trail. The walk will be predominately on form ed trails with some steep to very steep sections with loose sand and gra vel that are slippery and/or unstable under foot. The linear distance of 15km with an adjustment for elevation gain of 650m makes this equivalen t to a 21.5km hike. Given the nature of the terrain (steepness) and the length and elevation gain/loss the hike is likely take 5.5hrs to complet e and best suited for walkers with a good level of fitness and have comp leted successfully at least one 15-16km hike in the past month. Nature C onnection: This walk intentionally balances social interaction with brie f, guided periods of quiet, attentive walking and a short 'sit spot.' Th ese moments are designed to support a deeper engagement with the landsca pe. Conversation is warmly welcomed at all other times.
