We will walk with our day packs and car camp. Drive down on Friday afternoon, car camp overnight, walk Saturday, car camp overnight, then drive back on Sunday afternoon. On Saturday morning, after a car shuffle, we will start walking from th e northern end (Ben Boyd lighthouse) and complete about 21kms to arrive at the Bittangabee Campground. Saturday will be a relatively long day of walking for the following reasons… Bittangabee Campground has good ro ad access and facilities and is large and this will also leave us with a relatively short walk on the Sunday (about 11kms) to allow some time to explore the Green Cape lighthouse headland and then provide enough time to comfortably leave shortly after lunchtime for the long drive back to Canberra. As the walk on Saturday will be fairly long, you will need so me previous all day walking experience. I’ve booked a campsite for mys elf at Bittangabee for the Friday and Saturday nights. Camping fees for 2 nights at the Bittangabee Campground is about $50. Park permits for ca rs are $8 per day. Both are payable on the NSW National Parks website. I t’s not essential to camp at Bittangabee (!), other options include Sa ltwater Creek campsite (road access) or cabins, hotels, etc., in and aro und Eden. As long as you have your own car transport, you can stay anywh ere in the region that you prefer. Some of the group may wish to go out for dinner somewhere in Eden on the Saturday night, which I’m happy to do also. Please contact me for more information and any queries.
