 e Dam lookout and then broadly follow the shoreline for about 6km, half 
 on track and half through open bush. (Blackberries may be intruding on t
 he tracks in some places.) As we near Pierces Creek gully the walk becom
 es harder. We descend steeply through some thick scrub and with some tri
 cky rock scrambling reach the creek bed and a nice (early) lunch spot wh
 ere the creek runs into the dam. After lunch we follow the creek upstrea
 m for about 800m to the cars. The easiest option is to have footwear sui
 table for walking through some shallow water as the scrub on both sides 
 of the creek is very thick. Total distance is estimated to be about 8 km
  Those wishing to car pool should meet at Argus Park, Peter Cullen Way, 
 Wright by 8.15. Cost per vehicle would be $12 (ie $3 or$4 per person) .I
 f you drive yourself, go across the Murrumbidgee and then the Cotter bri
 dge and turn LEFT into the car park where the old Cotter Pub used to be 
 (ie NOT into the main picnic area). See marker on Map location. Please b
 e there by 8.30 so we can organise a car shuffle to the finish point. .

 ttle chance of rain, This walk is for members of the BBC, NPA or CBC clu
 bs. Those doing their first Wednesday walk must contact the leader to di
 scuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
