First Aid Training 2026

Brindabella Bushwalking Club (BBC) has organized a First Aid Training course for 3 Mar 26 and has 6 spare positions available for CBC. Accordingly, CBC is offering 6 members first aid training at no cost to members. Preference will be given to Leaders, and then extended to ordinary members to achieve the 6 positions. Numbers are limited, so first in best dressed.
Training has been organized with a local company 'Canberra First Aid and Training' at Fyshwick.
The training consists of two parts:
a) online component 4-5 hours (mainly videos and questions) required to be completed prior to practical training.
b) practical face-to face element approximately 4 hours. Practical element of the course Tuesday 03 Mar 26 (tentatively 0900 to 1300) at Fyshwick.
At the completion of the training, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for:
- HLTAID011 'Provide First Aid' (valid for 3 years)
- HLTAID010 'Provide basic emergency life support' (valid for 3 years), and
- HLTAID009 'Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (valid for 1 year)
Note that the training has been modified slightly to take into consideration bushwalking scenarios.
Members will first need to book via Bilby, followed by course registration with Canberra First Aid and Training which will be forwarded by the activity owner once the information is available. Please contact the activity owner if you any questions.

Snake bite (Pressure Immobilization Technique)
Ant, Wasp, Bee, tick, leech and other bites/stings
Allergic reactions (EpiPen and AnaPen use)

Heart Attack
Stroke
Choking
Drowning
Burns
Personal first aid kits
