NOTE that due to the hot weather forecast and fire risk, t he leader may decide to cancel the walk if conditions are considered too extreme A walk to the upper Brindabellas near Mt Ginini to escape the h eat in Canberra visiting cascades and a waterfall. Starting from Mt Gini ni carpark, we head along Mount Franklin Road and head off down to Snowy Flats cascades for morning tea. We then head back up to Stockyard Spur Firetrail, then off-track down a steep, scrubby slope to the falls for a n early lunch and a refreshing high country dip if there is enough water . We return via some noble fir trees, and other points of interest back to the cars. A few kms of fire trail and remainder off-track, with mild to thick scrub, fallen timber and a steep slope. Suitable for fit, exper ienced, off-track walkers. Walkers are advised to bring plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat. Additional water should be available from the cree ks, treatment recommended. Gaiters, scrub gloves, eye protection and bat hers are also recommended.
