DESCRIPTION:The road to Charlottes Pass usually opens after the October 
 Long Weekend. We will take advantage of the snowshoeing opportunities th
 is presents by doing day trips over 4 days. Destinations include Club La
 ke, Mt Carruthers, Twynham, Blue Lake, Hedley Tarn, Mt Stilwell, Kangaro
 o Ridge, Mt Guthrie, Paralyser Ridge and more. Even if the snow is poor 
 or the weather is bad there is usually a spot we can find for a snowshoe
 ing adventure. Participants can join for one or more days. This activity
  is suitable for CBC members new to snowshoeing - if you can hike you ca
 n snowshoe. The caveat is you need to have good fitness and can get hold
  of the necessary gear to keep yourself comfortable and safe in mountain
  weather. Note we will be at much higher altitudes than Canberra. Accomm
 odation will be at the Canberra Alpine Club Lodge in Perisher at a cost 
 of around $75 a night for non-CAC members. So for three nights the lodge
  cost will be around $225. CBC members can get a discount of around 10 p
 er cent on this. Booking inquiries will be initially tagged as "Interest
 ed" until lodge bookings are lodge in April. Once lodge bookings are con
 firmed I will seek payments. Snow shoes can be rented from Rhythm in Coo
 ma or Wilderness Sports in Jindabyne; and also available for a fee from 
 the Club.
