The walk explores various aspects of the Black Mountain Nature Reserve criss-crossing the undulating landscape along fire trails, single well defined foot pads and short sections off-trail. Hike fit: The linear distance of 11km with an adjustment for elevation gain of 400m makes this equivalent to a 15km hike. Given the nature of the terrain (surface, vegetation, steepness) and the length/elevation gain/loss the hike is likely to be moderately strenuous, take approximately 4.0 hrs to complete and suited for walkers with a good level of fitness, whom are interested in nature connection, are comfortable walking off track and completed successfully at least one hike of 8-10km in the past month. Nature Connection: Please note this walk will involve deliberate periods of quiet, attentive, and reflective mindful walking/sitting to foster a more immersive experience of and deeper connection with the country we will be walking in.
