This walk will highlight the approach to Billy Bill y Rocks along the ridge of the Tidbinbilla valley from the north-east. W e will leave cars at the regular BBR carpark but will start by walking n orth rather than to the traditional climbers' track. After a short time on an overgrown firetrail, we will bash our way steeply up to the Tidbin billa ridge and then make our way through scrub to the top of Hill 1356 and morning tea at some impressive rock formations. We will then careful ly make our way through rocks and scrub to the saddle before BBR. The as cent to BBR itself will pass seldom-visited rocks with great views down to the valley. If heat and rain permit, we will finally loop our way up to the very top of BBR and back down the climbers' track to the cars. Th is is a scrubby walk with rock scrambling. Together with stops and rock exploration, its expected duration is about eight hours for 8 km. Walker s should bring gloves, protective eyewear, gaiters, sunscreen and plenty of water. This walk is suitable for fit, experienced, off-track walkers . Prospective walkers who are uncertain whether they will be able to com plete the walk in a timely manner are invited to consult with the leader . Transport: In an attempt to beat some of the heat we will meet early a t Kambah Village shops (Marconi Cres, opposite petrol station) at 7:00 t o leave at 7.15am. 72 km ($10 per person). Weather: Partly cloudy with a medium chance of showers later in the day (at least 1mm). The chance of a thunderstorm later in the day.
