Initially we will be based in Mansfield, and at a later stage we will move to Beechworth. On current planning, the highlights of the trip will be Lake Eildon, Mount Stirling, the Winton Wetlands and the High Country Rail Trail. Anyhow, that's the plan. At this stage. It's subject to revision. And review. And amendments. Also, there will probably be a rest day at some point. Possibly dictated by the weather, possibly not.
As was the case last year, the thinking behind this activity is that we should get a little taste of everything in the area. Then, on future activities we can increasingly focus on those parts of the Victorian High Country that we really like.
I expect our accommodation will be a mix of car camping and cabins.
As this is a multi-day interstate trip, expressions of interest will be assessed in terms of the applicants capacity for self-sufficiency, their ability to fit in with a diverse group and their ability to conduct themselves responsibly and competently during a walk. Applicants should also have at least a moderate level of fitness.
