Wed 26th Nov 2025
Bookings available to active members only.
No bookings required for joint club Wednesday Walks
**McQuoid Creek, Forster Hill and Jews Corner Circuit along the Murrumbidgee Corridor **
This Easy to Medium graded walk will be led by Terrylea Reynolds (contact: 0408715218, terryleainwashington@hotmail.com) on behalf of the National Parks Association.
This is an absolutely delightful walk with stunning views from Forster Hill west to the Bullen Range and the Murrumbidgee Corridor and north to Cotter Dam. We start off having fun making our way over possibly dampish and knee deep grassland to McQuoid's Creek. We cross the creek, hopefully not getting our feet wet, then huff and puff our way up steep Forster Hill to the trig where we'll pause to get our breath back and enjoy the views before we head down the other side. From there we follow the reserve boundary over (possibly more dampish) low grassland north then west to New Station Creek. From there we clamber up onto a rocky lookout for spectacular views before continuing west to Jews Corner where, blackberries permitting, we'll find a way down to the Murrumbidgee River. We retrace our steps for approximately 2 kms to the east and south east before taking the Murrumbidgee Corridor north back to the cars. Poles may well be very useful for the steepish sections.
Own transport. Meet at the entrance to Kambah Pool, parking on the left side of the road just before the cattle grid entry gate at 09:00 am.
Weather: 10 to 21 with the possibility of scattered thunderstorms (as forecast on 19 November, so I suggest you all check again the day before).
Reminders: Bring sufficient water, lunch, footwear and gaiters for the off-track grassy areas, sunhat, sunscreen, rain jacket, warm/windproof clothing.
Those doing their first Wednesday Walk, and those who are not members of the CBC, BBC or NPA, must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
