Shepherd's Lookout to Uriarra East Loop - an Evening Walk

Join me on a walk from Shepherd's Lookout to Uriarra East Picnic Area where, if the weather permits, we can take a quick dip in the cool of the day. Bring your dinner to eat at the Uriarra East Picnic area where there is plenty of shade, toilets and a beautiful view of the Murrumbidgee River. This walk is best done with walking poles as there are steep, gravelly and slippery areas and plenty of stairs as well. The walk is an old favourite but takes in the newly refurbished section (thank you ACT Parks). Stunning views from Shepherd's Lookout over the Murrumbidgee, easy walking along the track over the Molonglo River and its bridge then we follow the 'bidgee to our picnic area. The loop is back up over the road at Uriarra, over the style then across grassland. Wear gaiters as there are plenty of thistles and grass seeds - shiny sticks too possibly. Bring a head torch just in case we take our time swimming and need a little help finding our way back. Sunset is 8.00 pm.
