EASY/MEDIUM WEDNESDAY WALK - 19 NOV 2025 - STONY CREEK NATURE RESERVE AND MURRUMBIDGEE RIVER (BBC)
Wed 19th Nov 2025
Bookings available to active members only.
No bookings required for joint club Wednesday Walks
This Easy to Medium graded walk will be led by David Abela (Ph: 0482 802 050) on behalf of the Brindabella Bushwalking Club.
This walk is a 12 to 13km ramble on well formed fire trails to access a lovely section of the Murrumbidgee River just a few kilometres downstream of the Cotter Reserve. Most of this walk will be on wide fire trails that pass through the Cotter Pines, Stony Creek Nature Reserve, then follows high above the Murrumbidgee River for some really nice views of the valley and river below. Our morning tea spot is on a splendid grassy knoll overlooking the valley ….and then for a shady lunch spot a bit later in the walk, we will drop down to the banks of the river along a well formed trail - it's the only steep section of our walk, but the track is no more than 100 metres long. The majority of the walking for our day will be on gentle up and down gradients. For the final stage home, we will traverse a section through the Cotter Pines on single track to bring us back to our cars.
