EASY/MEDIUM WEDNESDAY WALK - RED HILL LOOKOUT TO MACARTHUR (BBC)

This Easy to Medium graded walk will be led by Robin Cayzer (0417 238 652) on behalf of the Brindabella Bushwalking Club.
The walk combines parts of two sections of the Canberra Centenary Trail and passes on well-used and well-marked tracks through the Wanniassa Hills, the Canberra Nature Reserve / Long Gully Pine Plantation, the Mt Scheafe Trig, the Isaacs Ridge Nature Reserve, the Mugga Mugga Nature Reserve and the Red Hill Nature Reserve to make for a most enjoyable and not too difficult day out.
We will meet at the Red Hill Lookout carpark (loo) and then car shuffle to the trailhead at the vacant land near 123 Jackie Howe Crescent in Macarthur.
Meeting time: 8:15 am for an 8:30 am start.
Duration: We should finish the walk by 2:30PM.
Suggested passenger cost: 17 Km= $3 per passenger.
Grading: Easy side of Medium. (BBC 7, CBC ME)
Distance; 14km. Total climb: 470m Descent: 400m.
Terrain: Tracks, footpads and fire trails, very little uneven/steep ground.
Weather: (as at Friday) Sunny, Light winds, 4 – 26 degrees.
Bring: Hat, sunscreen, morning tea/lunch and 2 litres of water is recommended.
NOTE: Bus users could head for the bus stop opposite the Canberra Girls Grammar School at the top of Melbourne Avenue, Deakin, and then walk up Gowrie Drive on foot (or flag down a fellow Wednesday Walker!)
Walkers who are not members of the BBC, CBC or NPA must contact the walk leader before the walk to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk. Please note that walk leaders retain the right not to accept any walker. Non-members must be accompanied by a sponsoring member.
