Kosciuszko National Park: Day Trips to Blue Lake and Mt Stilwell.

If you can hike you can snow shoe! At the moment, we can drive up to Charlottes Pass with plenty of snow to enable snow shoeing/hiking to a range of places. At the time of posting this activity the weather forecasts are good. So a lightning opportunity which is unusal for this time of the year. And I don't normally take people out snowshoeing when I can ski it.
Day trip options are Mt Stilwel/Kangaroo ridge/the Restaurant Ruins; and Blue Lake/Hedley Tarn/Mt Carruthers. Distances up to 12km; climbs up to 600m.
I’ll be heading up to Charlottes Pass early Tuesday morning and returning Wednesday afternoon (in time for the AGM), and staying at the Canberra Alpine Lodge at Perisher on the Tuesday night.
Participants are welcome to join me for both days and stay at the CAC lodge for $75 a night (a 10% discount for members) . Or they can meet me at Charlottes Pass with their snow shoes ready to go. Snowshoe and pole hire available at Wilderness Sports in Jindabyne or Rhythm in Cooma, where we can stop on the Tuesday morning.
This trip is suitable for beginner snowshoers with good fitness, but if I’ve not hiked with you please contact me before booking in.
