Mt Domain from Fishing Gap with exit via Snowy Corner
Sat 06th Dec 2025
Bookings available to active members only.
One of the most challenging and rewarding walks in the new Mindjagari Track area at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve awaits us. Few walkers have tackled this route due to its navigational challenges and rugged terrain — but today, we’ll make you proud!
Starting from the Fishing Gap carpark, we’ll follow a well-established trail up to the ridge. From there, we’ll climb steeply along a rocky spine and continue through relatively open woodland. After a few hundred more metres along a faint footpad, grand views will open up: gaze down into the wild Cotter River Valley, across to the Brindabella Range, and up to the top of Ginini Falls.
We’ll then follow the ridge to Snowy Corner, before descending to the Mountain Creek carpark. Along the way, you might hear the distinctive calls of a lyrebird echoing through the forest.
In total, the hike covers approximately 15 km with 700 metres of vertical ascent. We should be still able to attend the CBC Xmas party after the walk..
Please note that a pass is required for each vehicle entering the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve (TNR). For further information and to purchase a pass, refer to the TNR website at https://www.tidbinbilla.act.gov.au/visit
