Newnes Plateau: Canyoning (day trips and multi-day)

Canyoners are welcome to join Bruce and I for some canyoning in the Newnes Plateau. We've set aside a two week window in November within which we will pick a week of the best weather days for this activity, after checking weather forecasts. For some of the time, we'll car camp in Newnes Plateau (eg Barcoo swamp which has no amenities) and do day trips from there. There will also be the opportunity to do an overnight activity (involving a walk in to a remote base camp). Canyons include Closet, Galah, Surefire, Heartattack, Hole in the Wall, Banks. Participants are free to come for some or all of the time - please advise your date availability/preferences. Participants must have done canyoning with us previously or another group (please contact me with your experience); have their own canyoning and personal protective equipiment; and be capable of basic self rescue (eg lock offs, use of prusiks). Nb: The number of participants may increase if we have more canyon leaders involved.
