Kydra Rock Ribs

This three day walk, mainly in the Kybeyan SCA, is designed to introduce CBC leaders and members to this area. It is one of my favourite areas, combining unusual rock formations, vegetation ranging from heath with spring flowers to magnificent old-growth forest, viewpoints and a cascading creek. It is also koala habitat. We will walk in about 4 hours on Day 1 and set up camp in the forest, with an optional 1-2 hours walk up a rocky creek in the afternoon. Day 2 will be a challenging circuit with day packs, climbing 350 vertical metres up another rocky creek then forested spurs to a viewpoint. On Day 3 we will walk out, on a similar route to our walk in or another route, tbc. Though the uphill pace will be moderate, the terrain will be rough, with rock scrambling and patches of scrub.
