Kydra Rock Ribs for leaders
Sat 04th Oct 2025
Bookings available to active members only.
This three day walk, mainly in the Kybeyan SCA, is designed to introduce CBC leaders to this area. It is one of my favourite areas, combining unusual rock formations, vegetation ranging from heath with spring flowers to magnificent old-growth forest, viewpoints and a cascading creek. It is also koala habitat. We will walk in about 4 hours on Day 1 and set up camp in the forest, with an optional 1-2 hours walk up a rocky creek in the afternoon. Day 2 will be a circuit with day packs, climbing 350 vertical metres up another rocky creek then forested spurs to a viewpoint. On Day 3 we will walk out, probably on a similar route to our walk in. Booking preference to people who have led a CBC walk in the last 12 months. Uphill pace will be moderate.
