Smokers Gap/Orroral Valley Crossover Walk – Expressions of Interest

I am seeking expressions of interest in this walk. It runs between Smokers Gap and the old Orroral Valley tracking station site. The plan is for walkers from one car to go down hill while another car’s worth of walkers will go in the opposite direction, that is up hill. A suitable day will be decided amongst the participants. I will lead the down hill group and Henry Gardiner, co leader, will lead the up hill group.
The track is about 18 Km long and the descent/ascent is around 500 metres. The track is grade 3 meaning – “Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may have short steep hill sections a rough surface and many steps. Walks up to 20km”. In this case the track is a mixture on rarely used 4WD tracks, constructed track and grassy paths.
There is the possibility of getting wet feet crossing a river near the junction of the Orroral Valley track and the Smokers Gap Track.
