The walk explores various aspects of the Aranda Hills and Mt Painter Nature Reserves, criss-crossing the undulating landscape through open woodlands and grasslands along fire trails, single well defined foot pads and short sections off-trail. Hike fit: The linear distance of 10km with an adjustment for elevation gain of 300m makes this equivalent to a 13km hike. Given the nature of the terrain (surface, vegetation, steepness) and the length/elevation gain/loss the hike is likely to be light/moderate effort, take approximately 3.5 hrs to complete and suited for walkers with a moderate level of fitness, whom are interested in nature connection, are comfortable walking off track and completed successfully at least one hike of 8-10km in the past month.
Nature Connection: Please note this walk will involve deliberate periods of quiet, attentive, and reflective mindful walking to foster a more immersive experience of and deeper connection with the country we will be walking in.
