It begi ns at the start of the Tong’s Hole Track making its way south down to the Molonglo River. From here we contour following the course of the riv er while intermittently joining the Aprasia Link and Coppins Trail. We w ill explore various rocky headlands, gorges and lookout and river access points during our walk and will be returning to the starting point. The landscape is generally undulating with some rocky/grassy slopes/surface s that may be slippery and/or unstable under foot. Gaiters a must to pro tect legs and walking pole(s) might be useful. Hike fit: The linear dist ance of 13 km with an adjustment for elevation gain of 500m makes this e quivalent to a 18km hike. Given the nature of the terrain (surface, vege tation, steepness) and the length/elevation gain/loss the hike is likely to be moderately strenuous, take approximately 5.5hrs to complete and b est suited for walkers with a good level of fitness, whom are interested in nature connection, are comfortable off track and in the last 3 month s have hiked regularly and in the past month completed successfully at l east one hike of 10-12km distance. Nature Connection: Please note this w alk will involve deliberate periods of quiet, attentive, and reflective mindful walking to foster a more immersive experience of and deeper conn ection with the country we will be walking in.
