YANKEE HAT NORTH AND ROCK ART

We start our walk at Yankee Hat car park, heading out over Bogong Creek. From there we head up Middle Creek and swing round to climb up to the summit from the north side. We traverse the summit heading down the spur, swinging round to the E we re-join the walking track at the newly reopened Rock Art site, then return to the cars. The all round views from the the summit are outstanding on a clear day. This walk will not go ahead if its raining or if there has been a heavy downpour in the immediate proceeding days, the bush holds the water and its quite uncomfortable.

The bush is very thick in places, particularly on the traverse across the top of Yankee Hat and the start of the descent. Gaiters and gloves are required.
Transport information
Meet at Lanyon Shops and car pool in 2 cars. $40.00 per car, $10.00 pp.. We do have 2 wet crossing of Hospital creek on the drive to Yankee Hat car park, better suited to AWD or 4 WD due to the low clearance, its shallow at present, please indicate with your booking if happy to drive.
