Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve is an 829-hectare protected area located in north-eastern Canberra adjoining Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve to the north-west, together forming a continuous protected area extending across more than 18 km² of woodland. This anti clockwise circuit explores various aspects of the grassy woodlands including several hills ( Burnt Stump, Gecko, Old Joe, Gooroo, Sammy's) and a visit across the open grasslands to Inglewood Ruins (see photo insert). The climb up to the various hills is at times steep and rocky, grassy underfoot, and may be slippery. Walking pole(s) might be useful at times. This hill circuit includes a combination of walking along fire trails and off track walking through the open woodlands and grasses, with an elevation gain of approx 410m over 14km, is equivalent to an 18km hike, The hills offer great views of the surrounding regions, Sutton, NSW to the east, and Canberra to the west.
