DESCRIPTION:The Alta Via 1 (AV1) is a 120km through-hike which traverses
  across the Dolomite mountains in Italy, from Lago di Braies to north of
  Belluno. Along this route you can expect to see stunning jagged peaks, 
 dramatic gorges, beautiful valleys and wild animals such as eagles, cham
 ois and roe deer. I’m intending to engage an agency to organise an 11-
 day self guided AV1 walk commencing in early Sept 2026. There will be ni
 ne consecutive days of walking plus hotel accommodation the day before a
 nd on the last day of the walk. The remaining accommodation will be in m
 ountain huts with half board (dinner, bed and breakfast) and dorm style 
 sleeping arrangements. While our luggage will be transported from the st
 art to the finish points, there won’t be any transfers during the walk
 . This means that each individual will need to carry any toiletries, clo
 thing and supplies they may need for the duration of the walk. On the AV
 1 we can expect to climb up to 7,400m and descend around 8,248m over the
  entire route. Participants will need to have a good level of fitness; a
 t a minimum, be able to comfortably walk 10-15km and climb 1,000-1,200m 
 each day, over nine consecutive days. You would also need to be able to 
 carry sufficient water and supplies for yourself (eg, 10-12kg). If you a
