DESCRIPTION:Join us for an outdoor Smartphone Navigation Tutorial, on Re
 d Hill, on Sunday the 3rd of August. Expect to be out and about for abou
 t three hours. dress warmly for bushwalking and bring your lunch. We wil
 l gather near the Lunetta restaurant at about 10.30AM. Bring your smartp
 hone, your bushwalking nav app, and any other nav gadgets you would like
  to cross compare. We will start our smartphone apps, then toddle toward
 s Davidson Trig 750m. Expect slow going, much finger poking, many stops,
  and much chatter. We can load apps to your phone on the run. This is th

  I do not recommend you use All Trails or Strava apps for bushwalking, t
 hese are for use within reach of phone towers, when bushwalking your pho
 ne should be in Airplane Mode to save battery. Learn to use Screen Pinni
 ng for Android or Guided Access for iPhone, this saves time and battery.
  For maps I recommend - SIX-NSW, LIST, Maps VIC, Q Topo, LINZ, Open Andr
 oid, and Worldwide Imagery through Arc GIS. Bring any other devices, app
 s or maps you would like to compare, and perhaps bring a notepad and pen
 cil.
