Wednesday Walk – Canberra Centenary Trail - Four nature reserves
Wed 27th Aug 2025
Walk
Bookings available to active members only.
No bookings required for joint club Wednesday Walks
This walk combines two sections of the Canberra Centenary Trail which make for a most enjoyable, rewarding and not too difficult day out. The entire walk is on well used and well-marked tracks, mostly in nature reserves
We will meet on the vacant land near 123 Jackie Howe Crescent in Macarthur and share a small number of cars to ferry us to Parliament where we start our walk. Indicative timing and distances are as follows.
a. 0 km - Depart Parliament House 9:00
b. Red Hill Mature Reserve - lookout 10:35
c. 8.7 km- Mt Mugga Mugga Nature Reserve 12:10
d. Isaacs Ridge Nature Reserve / Mt Sheaffe trig 13:45
e. Long Gully Pine Plantation
Wanniassa Hills Nature Reserve
f. 18.7km - Arrive Macarthur 15:15
This is an easily doable walk with gentle climbs and interesting country and frequent grand views of our region in all directions. Your leader will ensure we all have regular breaks so slower walkers are rested and not isolated from the group!
Those doing their first Wednesday Walk must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
