Kiama Coastal Walk - Minnamurra to Gerringong.
Sat 12th Jul 2025
An easy/medium day-pack walk over two days following the Kiama Coastal Walk. The best place to walk in the middle of winter is along the NSW South Coast. The days are short and the weather is mild. Total walking distance will be about 25kms over the two days. 13kms on day one and 12kms on day two. There will be a very relaxed walking pace over the weekend with plenty of time to stop for a coffee, a gelato or even an swim along the way. We’ll be walking over quite varied and hilly coastal terrain which will include formed paths, cycleways, rough/rocky paths, quiet suburban streets, sandy beaches, stairs, rocky headlands as well as the possibility of a “take your shoes off and get your feet wet” creek crossing at Werri Lagoon. There are a couple of really nice rock pools and patrolled surf beaches if you’re up for a mid-winter dip. I’ve booked myself a tent site and will be car camping at the East’s Beach Caravan Park in Kiama on Friday and Saturday nights, but you’re free to stay wherever you wish (hotels, cabins, camping, etc.) anywhere in the Kiama area.
We will also need to do a car shuffle each day (place a car or two at the end of the walk each day).
