Split Rock

This is a long day walk. We start at Orroral Valley Tracking station and walk on the AAWT, reaching Cotter Gap after 9km. We then go off track, climbing to reach spectacular granite boulders. The off-track section involves scrambling through bush and over rocks, hence gaiters and gloves are needed.
Distance: 21km. Climb: 750m. BBC level: Medium (11). Map: Rendezvous Creek, Corin Dam. Weather forecast (for Canberra): min 9 max 26 (should be 2 to 3 degrees less on walk)

Meeting point: Lanyon Shopping Centre Car park (Macdonalds end), ready for 8.00am departure. Cars: 80 km ($11 per passenger)
This a hard walk suitable for fit off-track walkers who are members of the BBC, NPA or CBC clubs. Those doing their first medium/hard Wednesday walk must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
