Stromlo morning circuit
Mon 21st Apr 2025
This morning walk involves a mixture of on trail and off trail ( about 50 / 50). We will complete an anticlockwise loop in the Stromlo area, linking up various fire trails and walking off trail in between. The off trails sections are through light woodlands, open grasslands, which can be rocky underfoot and a very short creek section (dry). One stile to go over and one fence to go under! Gentle undulation throughout the morning and our high point is Brown Hill at 719m, which offers fantastic 360 views all round - out to Bullen Range and beyond, Tidbinbilla Range, Stromlo area, Cooleman Ridge and more. We will have morning tea either at Brown Hill's Trig or a lower dam close by. Gaiters are strongly recommended for leg protection as there is a healthy amount of thistle and also blackberry patches (try to avoid!).
