Kanangra Boyd - the man caves

Fri 25th Apr 2025

Cancelled 3 Days+

Walk, Back-pack

A trip to the beautiful Blue Mountains, co-led with Scott Bartley .
We will meet at the Kanangra Walls Lookout carpark at 8am for 8.15 start.
Unfortunately, the Boyd campground is already booked out, so you have 2 options: get up super early and drive there that morning, OR drive to Oberon the night before and stay there somewhere, and drive approx 40mins to the start of the walk in the morning. We will both be staying at the Tatiana Motel.
Day 1 From the Kanangra Walls Lookout carpark, we will take the Plateau Walking Track along Kanangra Walls, past Crafts Walls, Mount Berry, Gabes Gap, Mount High and Mighty, Mt Stormbreaker, the Rs, Mt Cloudmaker, and then down to the 100 Man Cave where we will camp for 2 nights. You must carry enough water for the day, 2-3 litres. There will be water near the cave.
Day 2 we will do a return walk to 1,000 man cave and Compagnoni Pass. Possible other exploration depending on time.
Day 3 we walk out. You must carry enough water for the day, 2-3 litres.
Note: you must be fit for this walk.

A multi day backpacking or base-camping activity.
