Walk, Back-pack

This is a partial repeat of Garry B's trip in 2024. I aim to do it in three days but have allowed four days in case we don't get far enough to my intended campsites.

From Yankee Hat carpark, we head up and over the saddle below Mt Gudgenby to Naas Ck and then Sam's Ck. We then will aim to head up to Scabby range to locate our camp for the first night at Yaouk Tarn or, if the going is too slow due to the terrain etc, we'll camp at Sams Ck. This will be a long hard day so we need to start early.

We then head northwards towards Scabby Tarn and set up camp there. We take day packs and head southwards to the horseshoe range of Mt Scabby and beyond for a bit of an explore. We head back to our camp.

We pack up and head north to Mt Kelly. We'll drop packs and have a look at Mt Kelly before returning to our packs and heading towards Rotten Swamp, Bogong Ck and Falls and then back to the cars.

Note this walk is for experienced, fit, off-track walkers accustomed to thick fire affected regrowth scrub and rock scrambling.

Start and finish times do not include travel to the start and finish of the walk.

If the weather forecast is bad we'll reschedule to the following weekend, so participants who book in should allow for that contingency.

A multi day backpacking or base-camping activity.
