Hill 1246 near Booroom ba Rocks Leader: Andrew Cupit (0478309791). cupitandjen@outlook.com We a re starting this walk early and it is a short walk given the temperature s are forecast for over 30. The walk starts at the Booroomba Rocks car p ark off Apollo Road. We will walk 2.7kms along AAWT till we reach the ba se of Hill 1246. We will then head off track for 700m on a steep scrubby section to the summit for great views to the west towards Booroomba Roc ks and northeast towards Canberra. We will then return the same way to t he car park. We hope to finish the walk around lunch. We can then stop f or lunch at Honeysuckle Campground or a swim/ lunch at Gudgenby River (O ld Naas Travelling Stock Nature Reserve) on Naas Road on the way back. T he 1.5km off-track section varies from medium to thick bush. Walkers are advised to have gaiters and gloves. Distance: Under 7km. Climb: 535m. B BC level: Medium (9). Map: Corin Dam and Williamsdale. Weather forecast (for Canberra): Min 18 Max 32. Chance of any rain: 25% chance of at leas t 5mm. Party cloudy. Med chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon . Light winds becoming east to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h during the ev ening. Meeting point: Lanyon Valley Marketplace shops in time to leave p romptly by 7.30am (to beat the heat).
