Wednesday Walk 4 December BBC sponsored M/H
**Bookings not required for Wed walks.** Rocky knoll between Nursery and Rendezvous Creeks Leader: Prue Deacon, 6286 1573, 0487 388 959, prue.deacon@ozemail.com.au In October, Philip Gatenby took us to two rocky knolls on a ridge between Nursery and Rendezvous Creeks (Hills 1351 and 1337). This walk is to Hill 1373, a rocky knoll on the same ridge but to the north-west. From Nursery Swamp car park, walk up the track to Nursery Creek. Leave the track soon after the bridge and head south to the saddle between Hills 1351 and 1373, with morning tea along the way. Then climb to the top of Hill 1373. Lunch will be below the summit on a rock platform which overlooks Rendezvous Creek. Return roughly the same way. The walk is somewhat exploratory. Thick scrub is likely so gloves, long pants and/or gaiters, and eye protection are recommended. We will be evaluating whether it is feasible to descend to the cascades on Rendezvous Creek, but not attempting the descent. Distance: 9 km. Climb: 450m. BBC level: Medium (9). Map: Rendezvous Creek. Weather forecast (for Canberra): Partly cloudy, chance of a shower, min 15 max 31 (bring plenty of water) Meeting point: Kambah Village shops (Marconi Cres, opposite petrol station). 8.20am ready for 8.30am departure. Cars: 90 km ($12 per passenger) Those doing their first medium/hard Wednesday walk and also prospective walkers who are not members of the BBC, NPA or CBC clubs must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
