Evening walk - Black Mountain
Thu 26th Dec 2024
Part-day walk
An evening walk at Black Mountain Nature Reserve. Following a combination of fire trails and small tracks, we initially follow the Botanic Gardens Fire Trail to link up with the Bushlands Nature Walk to visit a viewing platform offering lovely views out to Lake Burley Griffith and Parliamentary Triangle. Continue uphill towards another look out platform, and then connect with the ‘Hat Band’ below the Black Mountain tower. Can admire the early changes in color on the western side, before heading back to our starting point via the main summit trail. Sunset is 8.20pm. The walk will start and finish at the dirt car park in front of the Actew sub-station on Frith Road (behind CSIRO).
Please book as usual via Bilby. If walk cancelled for any reason (e.g., too hot, too wet) valid participants will be notified via Bilby by 5:30pm on day of the walk.
