The loop trail takes us from Laurel Camp around Sugarloaf Hill and descends to Pierces Creek. The steep climb along the Nine Mile trac k leads south west to the entrance to Namadgi National Park and the Hard y Range. We follow the trail to its end before retracing our steps and r eturning to our start via the Razorback fire trail. The walk will be pre dominately on formed trails with some steep to very steep sections with loose sand and gravel that are slippery and/or unstable under foot. The linear distance of 15km with an adjustment for elevation gain of 650m ma kes this equivalent to a 21.5km hike. Given the nature of the terrain (s teepness) and the length and elevation gain/loss the hike is likely to b e strenuous, take approximately 5.5hrs to complete and best suited for w alkers with a high level of fitness, whom in the last 3 months have hike d regularly and completed successfully at least one hike with the club o f a minimum length of 15km.
