Nature Connectedness - A mindful way
Sun 29th Sep 2024
Part-day, Walk, Training
There is a growing body of research that attests to the health and wellbeing benefits of spending time in nature. Simply being in nature is insufficient, what matters most is our relationship to and connection with nature- i.e., how we think about, feel about, and experience nature. Nature connection is more than simply being in or having a functional relationship with nature but rather involves a deeper respect, appreciation and caring for it. This nature connectedness walk will provide an opportunity for us to enhance our nature connectedness through engaging in simple mindfulness and nature connection practices. For further information on the science, benefits and practice of nature connectedness please see the “Nature Connectedness Research Group” at the University of Derby, UK. (www.derby.ac.uk/research/centres-groups/nature-connectedness-research-group/). This activity will be undertaken in the Aranda/Black Mountain Nature Reserves.
A walk or similar activity with a duration of a day or part day. No overnight gear required.
