Nattai NP: Bonnum Pic & Wanganderry Walls

This is an exploratory overnight walk provided in place of the rescheduled Nadgee Wilderness walk.

Bonnum Pic is a rocky outcrop in Nattai National park near Mittagong. It is roughly an 8km walk to the Pic from the cars . After Bonnum Pic, we'll head over to Wanganderry Walls crossing Bonnum Pic Creek (around 3km). We'll camp somewhere on Wangenderry Walls. From camp, we'll circuit back to the cars - we may cross Allum River (around 10km). All up around 20km with around 600m of climbing give or take. There'll be interesting rock features and views along the way as well as a very exposed section to get to Bonnum Pic itself, which is optional, and a waterfall over Bonnum Pic Creek.

Although we start on a track, that’ll peter out due to regrowth since the bushfires in 2019/20. So this is effectively an offtrack walk, where route finding will be needed through scrub. There will also be rock scrambling.

It's around a 2-2.5hr drive to the start of the walk near Berrima from Canberra. So we will need an early start leaving Canberra on Sunday morning. Time estimates include travel time to/from Canberra.

At the time of posting, the current weather forecasts show little chance of rain and cool temps up to 14 degrees. There may even be some sun! I expect there is water in a creek near Wanganderry Walls so only water for the first day (2-3 l) is required.
