Family walk and swim, Gudgenby River
Sun 21st Jan 2024
This walk is designed for families with children aged 1 to around 10, and is suited to hot weather. Families with kids aged 5 and over - the 'floaters' - will spend about 30 minutes descending the Gudgenby from Smiths Road Bridge on boogie boards, lilos, or just wading and splashing. Families with kids under 5 - the 'walkers'- will do a 200 metre walk, with a helper/guide, and meet the floaters at the the end point, where there are options for sand and water play. Any family planning to 'float' will need to bring 2 adults, so that one can do a 4 minute car shuffle. The Gudgenby has much better water quality than the Murrumbidgee and is usually a series of sandbanks, gentle current and pools. It is possible for families with kids in the higher age range to walk back upstream on a track and repeat the float, if they're keen! NB Please list the first and last names of all your family members when you book, and the ages of the kids.
