Evening Walk - Point Hut to Pine Island returning via Stanger Pond & Mt Stranger (Waitlisting) ?

From Point Hut Picnic Area car park, we'll walk the trail that's adjacent to the Murrumbidgee River to Pine Island South, from there head eastwards on a walking trail to Stranger Pond. We'll briefly walk the Bicentennial National Trail (BNT). Once at the foot of Mt Stranger we'll leave the BNT to ascend to the trig on Mt Stranger where we'll enjoy the views of Bonython, southern end of Greenway, Urambi Hills, Mt Taylor and beyond, as well as great view of the Murrumbidgee River valley. After a brief stop, we'll then descend Mt Stranger to head back across some grasslands to join the walking track to Point Hut Crossing.
Meeting spot is Point Hut Picnic Area car park.

Mostly track and Bicentennial National Trail. Mt Stanger ascent is off track through somewhat rocky grassland gaiters recommended for this section.
Transport information
Find your own way to the starting point, Point Hut Crossing car park, further information will be communicated via the Message Board after bookings close. Walk will be starting at 6:30pm.
