WEDNESDAY WALK - M/H - BBC SPONSORED, 4 October

**NO BOOKING REQUIRED FOR JOINT CLUB WEDNESDAY WALKS** Square Rock and McKeahnie Trig Leader: Andrew Cupit (0478309791). cupitandjen@outlook.com This is a tough walk with some good views. The walk starts at Square Rock car park. Before we start, we will do a car shuffle to leave a car at the end point of the walk along Corin Road. We will walk up the track to Square Rock where we have morning tea and enjoy the views. We then head back around 300m and then turn SW off-track, 2.5kms to McKeahnie Trig (1469m). This off-track section varies from open grassland to medium bush (and everything in-between). We will have lunch at the trig and explore the summit area. We will then head north off track for around 2.5kms through medium bush until we reach Corin Road. Walkers are advised to have long sleeves & pants, bring gaiters (Note - I did see a black snake this week on this walk), boots with grip and gloves. Distance: about 10km. Climb: 350m, descent 510m. BBC level: Hard (10). Map: Corin Dam. Meeting point: Kambah Village shops (Marconi Cres, opposite petrol station). Meet around 7.45am, leaving at 8am. Cars: 70 km ($10). Canberra forecast is 14-29C. Sunny morning. Medium chance of showers (0-15mm), most likely later in the day. Winds northerly 25 to 40 km/h. This walk is for members of the BBC, NPA or CBC clubs. Those doing their first Medium/Hard Wednesday walk must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
