DESCRIPTION:A riverside walk to an area of dramatic scenery where the Sh
 oalhaven River meets rock strata that are at right angles to its flow, a
 nd starts to become a gorge. We walk initially through fairly open fores
 t, past some shafts from gold mining days, and then descend to the river
  bank for some strenuous rock-scrambling past unusual rock formations, c
 ascades, large pools and occasional beaches. We may see some early sprin
 g flowers. The walk will suit people who, when offered a choice of a roc
 ky route and an easier way round it, prefer the rocky route :-) At least
  two wades of the Shoalhaven, probably up to knee deep. This walk is on 
 crown land and river reserve. We will meet in Queanbeyan (meeting point
