Weddin Mountains

A three-day walk in the Weddin Mountains. Day1: From Ben Halls Campground to Dingo Gully via the top of the range with good views of the surrounding plains from Euraldrie and Peregrine Lookouts. Day 2: A loop from our camp on Dingo Gully to Black Spring and Black Spring Mountain, the highest point on the range. We return to the camp via Green Gully. Day 3: Over a couple of spurs and into Berthas Gully and Ben Halls Cave to return to the cars. We will place a water drop at Dingo Gully on the way to Ben Halls Campground. Terrain information
The walk will be about 60% off track. There are some steep ascents and descents and although most of the area has relatively open forests, there will be some thickish scrub in places. Long trousers may be advantageous. There will be no potable water available during the day, so it will be necessary to carry water for the whole day.
Transport information
We will leave Canberra mid-afternoon on Monday 22 May, nominally about 2pm although we can be a little flexible about this. Travel time, including putting in the water drop is about 3h30m. Transport Cost: $220 per car.
