The Settlers Track
Wed 08th Mar 2023
This pleasant walk through the valleys of southern Namadgi passes three historic huts and many other relics from the pastoral era. It is mostly on walking track and fire trail but there will be a 1km section off the main track to Pheasants Hill. The walk is around 10 km with a height gain of approximately 250m. Meet at the Lanyon Marketplace off Tharwa Drive, Conder in the shopping complex car park just to the north of McDonalds ready for an 8.30am departure. We will car pool from there, . We drive 56km south along the Boboyan Road through Namadgi National Park (Some of it is dirt road but has been graded recently). The walk starts at the car park next to Brayshaws Homestead just before the ACT-NSW border. There are toilets at the start of the walk and also at Westermans Homestead. A brochure is available from the ACT Parks and Conservation Service Website.
