Tallaganda Forest and Rogers Rocks (trip now full and waitlisting)
Sat 21st Jan 2023
A meandering new route for this leader (Linda Groom) that is entirely within mature, unburnt Tallaganda forest (pictured) plus two extended granite outcrops with some views. The forest varies from damper areas with mature brown barrel eucalypts with understories of grass and occasional flowers, to drier areas with very tall banksias. The granite outcrops provide some tree-filtered views and opportunities for exploring. The first half of the walk will be off-track through semi-open forest, with patches of scrub, and the second half on informal foot pad. The pace will be moderate with longer than usual breaks for photography and botanising. Booking preference will go to those who tick the box 'This information is correct and up to date and I am happy to share with this activity owner' on the booking form. Please, also, at 'Do you have any further details to add?' indicate whether you prefer to drive or be a passenger, and how many people you are comfortable sharing a car with (for Covid caution). The drive is best done in AWD/4WDs.
