Wednesday Walk BBC Sponsored M/H

Mount Ginini to Mount Gingera - 15 km, Medium Leader: Peter Wellman (6288 5985, wellmanp@iinet.net.au). We park cars at the locked gate on the Mt Franklin road (below Mount Ginini), walk on the fire trail/road to below Mount Gingera, climb to Mount Gingera trig largely on the footpad, have lunch and then return. Total climb: 350-400 m. Map: Corin Dam. Cars: 160 km ($22), 1.3-1.5 hours drive each way. Meet at the Weston Creek Tennis Courts car park, in Dillon Close, which comes off Namatjira Drive directly opposite and north of McDonalds at Cooleman Court, leaving at 8:30 am. The present forecast for Mount Ginini is for a temperature of 12-20oc, and with the showers coming after 5 pm. This should be a pleasant walk with a nice temperature, hopefully with some flowers. On the drive in, the gravel part of the road to Piccadilly Circus is in relatively poor condition, so I would not recommend the using of a small ‘town car’. Those doing their first Medium/Hard Wednesday walk and also prospective walkers who are not members of either the NPA, BBC or CBC clubs must contact the leader to discuss the level of difficulty of the walk.
