A little post-Christmas fitness restoration activity for you. From the Namadgi Visitors’ Centre we proceed westward along the Australian Alps Walking Track, past the Cypress Pine Lookout then onward and upward to the junction with the new Mount Tennent Walking Trail. From there we slog our way to the top of Mount Tennent where we will enjoy the views and tuck in to a well-earned but early lunch. After lunch we descend from the mountain and then swing to the south-south-east along the sometimes slippery fire trail and passing some very interesting topography left scarred by the fires of 2020. Near the end of the walk we easily ford Honeysuckle Creek and make a steep but brief ascent to Apollo Road and the cars that we pre-positioned there earlier in the day.
