Big Monks and Rocky Creek Circuit - Rob Roy Nature Reserve - THIS TRIP IS NOW FULL
Sat 06th Jun 2020
A circuit walk from Banks which takes you rock hopping and scrambling up the sides of a (usually fairly dry) creek to the base of a waterfall. The waterfall will be dry unless there's been a big dump of rain a couple of days before but it's still spectacular to see either way. We climb up to the north east of the waterfall and around its top onto beautiful open grassland with spectacular views to the north, west and south of Canberra. Some lovely gum trees and easy undulating terrain at this point and then a climb to Big Monks trig (916 m). From there we descend downhill via a steep gravelly firetrail back to the cars which can be done without a pole but one may be handy if you prefer.
