DESCRIPTION:Mt Coree is usually walked via firetrails but this walk will
  be off-track except for possibly the last 200 horizontal metres. The to
 tal vertical climb is 440 vertical metres, starting from the right-angle
 d bend on Curries Road. I have checked out the first 140 vertical metres
  and found it has little scrub. The remaining 300 vertical metres will b
 e an interesting mix of forest, moderate scrub, thick scrub and scree. I
  expect we will take a meandering route through this, occasionally on ha
 nds and knees. Return a similar way. The rewards are spectacular 360 deg
 rees views from the top, without the 20 + km of hard fire trails that is
  usually required. Mt Coree is not part of Namadgi NP and is open. It wa
 s not burnt in the summer fires and the forest is looking great.
